I'm would like to build a spray both. I have read "Klaus" article and quite a few others on the internet. I can't find a fan/motor assemble that will justify building my own booth.
I realize you need an explosion proof motor. For the price I have found on line, it would be just as inexpensive to buy a completed (booth) unit.
I have found fans with motors outside the airflow (ie dryer motor), again not cost effective.
I have read about computer co-axial fans being viable and cost friendly, but I can't locate one with the proper specs (cfm, watts. amps ect.
At this this point I'm going to pick up a ceiling fan (motor in airflow) and put a seal coat of epoxy around the wires myself. Are there any electricians in this forum? Does this method appear to be unsafe? After all, isn't that what makes a motor explosion proof ?
Could anyone guide me to a fan/motor that would justify building my own booth? If I have to spend $100 on a motor, I might as well spend another $50 and get something ready to go.
Any input would be more than welcome. Thanks Steve
